The second season of “Στην Πρίζα” moves deeper into the realities behind electricity bills, grid stability and regional energy security. Recorded in 2025, the series follows how Greece is trying to contain high energy costs while expanding its role as a regional hub. Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Nikos Tsafos opens the season with journalist Kostas Voutsadakis, focusing on new island interconnections and their impact on public service charges and wholesale prices. In the following episodes, Dimitris Fourlaris, Vice President of the Energy Division at RAAEY, and DAPEEP CEO Dimosthenis Voivontas discuss with journalists Kostas Deligiannis and Mantalena Piou how storage, smart metering, demand management and Guarantees of Origin fit into a more modern, flexible energy system.
Industrial competitiveness and market design are also at the centre of this season. Antonis Kontoleon, President of EBIKEN, speaks with Dimitris Avarlis about how RES overproduction, the absence of a forward market and the evolving PPA framework affect energy-intensive industry. DESFA CEO Maria Rita Galli and journalist Charis Floudopoulos look at LNG, new FSRUs and the shifting gas mix in Greece and Southeast Europe. Later in the season, IPTO Vice President Ioannis Margaris and civil engineer Panagiotis Kantiotos discuss with the host the technical and strategic dimension of the Crete–Attica interconnection, future North–South transmission corridors and the shortage of specialised engineers, while Metlen’s Executive Director of M Power Projects, Kostas Chorinos, and journalist Giorgos Fintikakis examine supply-chain pressures, workforce constraints and lessons from recent Iberian blackouts.
The final episodes connect energy to geopolitics and long-term strategy. IPTO Chairman and CEO Manos Manousakis talks with journalist Vaggelis Vardakis about the resilience value of the Crete–Attica link and the prospects opened by the Crete–Cyprus–Israel corridor. Secretary General for Energy and Mineral Resources Aristotelis Aivaliotis and journalist Pinelopi Mitroulia analyse the impact of the Israel–Iran crisis on Greece’s energy security and the need for more networks and interconnections. Aggregators, PPAs and storage enter the frame with Optimus Energy’s CEO Stella Zacharia and President Kostas Baslis in discussion with Machi Tratsa, while Giannis Karydas, CEO Renewables and Energy Storage of Copelouzos Group, and journalist Marianna Tzanne explore the Greece–Egypt interconnection and Greece’s role as a green energy gateway. Through this season, “Στην Πρίζα” offers a structured, ongoing look at how technical choices, market rules and regional tensions intersect in Greece’s energy transition, with Danezis Stories supporting IPTO in sustaining a clear, consistent podcast presence around these complex issues.
