“Non-Returns” Photo Exhibition by Sotiris Danezis

The “Non-Returns” was the third solo exhibition of Sotiris Danezis. The exhibition, was curated by Vangelis Ioakimidis, and included more than 300 photographic works, installations, projections, and footage from Sotiris Danezis documentaries. It was a joint production of the Municipality of Piraeus and the Philosophy and Photography Laboratory, with LG OLED TV as Technology Sponsor and Danezis Stories as the PR & Communications Agency.

The exhibition presented a collection of photographs, installations, and documentary footage from war and humanitarian/natural disaster zones all over the world. The exhibits were selected from the archive Danezis has amassed in more than 25 years of reporting and from more than 80 countries.

The exhibition included personal items brought back to Greece by Danezis, which testify to his missions and documented histories as memorabilia-traces. The exhibition also features six transmedia docs, featured on 65’’ LG OLED TV screens.
The “Non-Returns” Photo Exhibition opened on April 15, 2022, at the Municipal Gallery of Piraeus and ran through May 29, 2022. It has been described as an expansive show that illuminates the importance of photography as fine art, historical documentation, and social practice. "Non-Returns" showcased Danezis's experiences and documentation of the world's most compelling stories. It was a must-see exhibition for those interested in photography, documentary filmmaking, and social issues.
