Coca-Cola HBC chose Danezis Stories to bring its Achaia Rehabilitation Project to life, an environmental and community support initiative across the fire-affected areas of Achaia, Greece. We led the project end-to-end: strategic positioning, messaging architecture, campaign concept and naming, creative direction, and production of three documentary-style films with all digital and social media assets. Everything started with field research, finding the right people, understanding their stories and building the campaign around what is real.
Stergios arrived in Achaia twenty days before Christmas and found nothing but scorched earth. A forester from Grevena who grew up in the forest, he and his crew build log dams and timber barriers from natural materials to hold back sediment and prevent erosion across the fire-affected slopes. After the first heavy rainfall, he went up the mountain to check. The structures had filled with mud and debris. The soil held. The seeds survived. For him, the equation is simple: no healthy ecosystem, no human presence.

Seventy years of livestock farming in Achaia, and then fire. Panagiotis came back to find his cars burned, hay catching fire in the back of his truck, his flock surrounded by smoke. He stayed, because he loves his animals. When the forestry crews arrived to build anti-erosion works, his first reaction was doubt. After the rains, he saw the log dams holding. Now he believes the forest will recover within five years. Climate change is pressing hard, summers stretching to seven months, crops failing. But as he puts it: people are the strongest beast in nature.
