Fishing for Litter: Best Direction at LA & Toronto Documentary Festival

We are ihumbled and grateful to announce that our documentary, "Fishing for Litter" by Sotiris Danezis, was honored with the award for BEST DIRECTION at the Documentary Festival Los Angeles & Toronto.
Danezis Stories extends a heartwarming thank you to the festivals for recognizing our film. This distinction is not only ours - it belongs to the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation that created the "Fishing for Litter" program and as producer funded this documentary, but also to the forty fishermen who are involved in this effort to support scientific research and promote change in the fishing industry.
This distinction also belongs to the fishermen from Kavala, Samos, Chios and Lesvos, who allowed us into their world, letting us witness and capture the striking reality of their daily struggles. This award is a tribute to all those who believe that our actions can make a difference.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Danezis Stories along the way. Your belief in our work and aesthetics has been the wind in our sails and we are beyond grateful.
